Araabmuzik has been producing for 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Eminem and more, according to a recent video interview.

The Diplomats-affiliated producer and MPC virtuoso, who released one of the most divisive (judging by FACT’s comments section, anyway) albums of 2011 in his trance opus Electronic Dream, has apparently been in heavy demand: as well as working with the aforementioned hip-hop heavyweights, he’s also been making tracks for Jadakiss and will feature on Lil Kim’s next album.

Code Of Arms is proud to announce the vinyl release of Old Skool Dub / Eskimo Jam featuring Depone and Sonwah Fresh.
Depone is gaining momentum in the dubstep world, with several releases under his belt he has caught the attention of various artists and labels worldwide, and his tunes are played by some of the biggest names in the genre. Depone’s skills at the buttons are exceptional. Pursuing an honors degree in music technology, his production qualities shine through in every track he touches. Depone has been killing clubs for years as a DJ as well,
and fills the floors with a mixture of dark, moody, tekky dubstep with a stab of raw energy.
Sonwah Fresh, a.k.a. Sonny Lindon, was born in Devon Southwest, UK and
was first influenced by dance music at the age of 10. Introduced to drum ‘n’ bass and break beat at a young age, he started producing on just a Playstation. With the help of his friend Depone and his music production education, he learned the tricks of the trade and is now making serious moves in the EDM scene. This, his vinyl debut on Code Of Arms, is just the beginning for Sonwah Fresh.

Old Skool Dub is in a class of it’s own. Depone and Sonwah Fresh masterfully blend the old sound with the new, creating a hybrid-monster of a tune. Enticing familiar female vocal samples lure
you in to the drop, which rapidly batters the rhythm with hard sub. The nineties style synth bounces around the punchy drums, providing a perfect compliment to the gritty bass sounds. A pure feeling of nostalgia is combined with murderous bass-fueled mischief in this futuristic dream called Old Skool Dub.

Eskimo Jam opens with big cracks and booms in the distance that creates a dark, eerie atmosphere throughout the track. The exotic guitar and elastic skanky chords set the deep underlying melody of the song, which the bass then rudely counters. Nothing can prepare you though for when the sub drops in with a “Tony Montana” attitude, as the vocal sample accentuates. Tight, crisp drums answer to the wild synth sweeps and the sharp stabs that relentlessly pierce and sting the rhythm.
Eskimo Jam is an all out club banger with staying power so make sure you pick it up…

Dubstep label Eight:FX have just kicked off a series of albums to celebrate their fifth anniversary with a new compilation,
5 Years Of Bass. Label boss Josh Brandon tells us more...

Tell us all about your new compilation...

This compilation is the start of a series of albums we're doing to celebrate the fact the label has been running for five years now,
and to start things off we really wanted to release a compilation that wasn't about the best selling tracks of the past five years but the ones
we personally enjoyed and connected with the most. With all the new dubstep that's around too, we wanted to pick our favourites from day one,
not just the current sounding ones. So the compilation goes from the label's first properly distributed release (the MRK1 remix of Nika D & DJ Absurd's
Felt The Need) all the way up to exclusive unreleased tracks like Aquadrop's Champion Sounds. It's a personal celebration for us,
which we can share with our fans and other bass heavy or dubstep fans, showcasing the music we've really loved signing.

How did you go about choosing the artists and tracks that appear on it?

It really just came down to the tracks we personally enjoy the most. Listening back through catalogue to pick the 20 songs to use on this
compilation was much harder than picking the ones to use on our five year anniversary mini-compilations, as they were simply chosen to suit the
album's styles, like our five biggest old skool dubstep records, or five biggest club records. But as soon as I heard the start of some of these tracks
I knew straight away that it had to go on there.

When is it being released and on what formats?

This compilation was released this week, and as with all of our releases now is digital only. It's available everywhere though.

What else do you have coming out soon?

We've got the series of our five year anniversary mini-compilations to follow from this, which will each have five tracks on and will go through the
history of the label. This year we've also got some great new releases coming from our newer artists like Critic and the full release of Aquadrop's Champion Sound single. Then next year we've got some massive releases including MRK1's next single Home and a huge Hatcha & Lost remix
of RMS' Cold which is one to look out for. Future:Dubstep:04 will also be released in early 2011.

What's the next challenge for you?

Everything we do is a challenge, that's why I like doing this so much. From how quickly the music and the way the label works changes,
to our artist management, which throws up new challenges every day. We just want to keep pushing our music and our artists as far as
they can go and to be sure that we're releasing music that people like to and want to hear.

Anything else you want to tell us about?

I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who has supported us and our artists over the years, and everyone who has worked with us.
I hope we can continue to provide you with the music you like for another five years and more.
